Time slips by so fast…

I realize that the amount of time I have in each day is no shorter or longer than the amount of time that was allotted in each day to Shakespeare or Helen Keller or Einstein or the apostle Paul or Moses or…anybody else, and yet, somehow, I cannot always find – or, rather, make – the time to accomplish everything I wish I could.

Like blogging, for instance: I started, and I was into it, too; you know, enjoying it, having fun, and, then…I forgot about it. Writing. I forgot about writing. I’m shocked! Well, sort of.

I have this huge problem with procrastination, and I’ve been hearing a lot lately from some of my friends that my memory is none too good. The combination of those two problems is, well, let’s just say that it’s not good. I’m working on the procrastination thing, and I’m having some progress…I think. And, the memory problem, I think that’s because I’m not exercising my brain enough. My job doesn’t require me to use my brain very often, but it sure does a good job of stressing me out, so that when I get home, I don’t want to do much of anything that requires the use of my brain other than reading my Bible and perhaps whatever novel I happen to be in the middle of at the moment. And, yes, I am ashamed to admit that lately I have only been reading my Bible rather than studying. But I stopped that bad habit in its tracks yesterday, and it better stay in my past because it pains me that I let myself get that far.

Anyway, with all of that said and done, I’ve decided I want to go back to college. All I need to do now is find another job, one with steady hours so I won’t miss any classes…I’m excited!! I need to try something new – I feel like my brain is screaming at me, “You should have thought of this long ago!!” Oh, well. Better late than never…

  1. I am bitten by the procrastinatio bug often as well. Best wishes with your return to college.

  2. Back to school! That’s exciting. It sounds like we have a lot of catching up to do! Give me a call when you have a chance.
